Empathetic Ideas

Designed through a child’s eyes, made for children.

Empathetic Ideas is a social responsibility project in which Caploonba takes into production the furniture accessories that students of Yaşar University’s Interior Architecture and Environmental Design department designed for children around the theme of “empathy in design”. The designs chosen from among 25 student projects went into series production at our factory and were put on sale.

One product, two children. Every family that buys a Minimo or a Dino Bench adds play to one child’s room and, with the whole of the sales revenue, supports another child’s education.

01Design

Yaşar University students developed 25 projects that look at children’s needs with empathy.

02Production

Caploonba took the selected designs into series production at its own factory, with E0-standard MDF and healthy powder coating.

03Donation

All revenue from sales is donated to the Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey (TEGV).

A collaboration between Yaşar University, TEGV and Caploonba. The project began in 2020 on a shared platform of the three institutions: the students designed, Caploonba produced, and the revenue became a resource for TEGV’s educational work. All revenue from Minimo Play Table and Dino Bench is donated to TEGV; with these products you support children’s education too.

Empathetic Ideas is the social responsibility project Caploonba runs together with Yaşar University and the Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey (TEGV). Selected from the designs that Interior Architecture and Environmental Design students developed for children with an “empathy in design” approach, the Minimo Play Table and the Dino Bench are made at the Caploonba factory from E0-standard MDF with healthy powder coating; they carry the same production quality as our baby, kids and teen room collections.

With its checkerboard lid, its four cushions with handles in four colors and its toy pocket, the Minimo Play Table creates space for play, activities and sitting in a child’s room; the Dino Bench is used as a bench and sways when turned upside down. All revenue from the sale of both products is donated to TEGV. The products are on sale in Caploonba stores and at caploonba.com.
