Respect for people, labor and nature: Caploonba's working principles

Since 1983, Caploonba has been making baby, kids and teen rooms. Our company policy clearly sets out our responsibility toward the people who design and make these products, our business partners and the environment. The principles below summarize our working culture and our commitment to full compliance with the law.

Respect for the dignity, free will and equal rights of every employee is the foundation of our working culture.

Principle 01

Voluntary Work

At Caploonba, employment is entirely voluntary; no employee is ever forced to work. An employee's decision to leave is never blocked or delayed, except in exceptional situations where safety requires it. All personal information about our employees is protected and kept confidential to the extent required by law. No employee may be made to work to pay off a debt.

Principle 02

Age-Appropriate Employment

There is no place for child labor at Caploonba under any circumstances. Employment is based on the minimum working age set by national and international law; statutory training programs such as internships and apprenticeships are also carried out within the relevant legal framework.

Principle 03

Equal Opportunity

Caploonba values all of its employees and their contributions, and has a deep-rooted commitment to equal opportunity. We are determined to keep our organization free of discrimination and of physical or verbal harassment based on race, gender, color, nationality, social origin, religion, age, disability, political opinion or any other status protected by law. Staff are selected on the basis of the qualifications an open position requires, such as education, interests, skills and work experience.

Principle 04

Rights of Our Foreign Employees

Employment contracts for foreign employees, who are hired in accordance with the law, are drawn up in a language they understand. All personnel procedures, from hiring to departure, follow current legislation, and their legal employment rights are protected. No employee may be made to work to pay off a debt; Caploonba does not employ unregistered workers.

Principle 05

Fair Pay and Development Opportunities

We offer our employees wages that are competitive for our industry and the local labor market. All our practices on pay, working hours, overtime and benefits fully comply with current law and employment contracts. We give our employees opportunities to develop their skills and abilities, and support this effort with promotion opportunities wherever possible. Pay and promotion decisions are made without discrimination based on gender, religion, language or race. The lowest wage at Caploonba is the statutory minimum wage.

Principle 06

Written Employment Contracts and Orientation

For every employee we hire, we prepare a "Permanent Employment Contract" that complies with workplace rules and the law and clearly sets out the terms offered. New staff sign the "Permanent Employment Contract and Overtime Consent Form", and a copy of the contract is given to the employee against signature. Through orientation training, all the rules and principles required by Caploonba and the job are shared with our employees.

Principle 07

Balanced Working Hours

Weekly working time is 40 hours for our young workers and 45 hours for employees over 18. Social benefits and working arrangements are planned to be discussed jointly at meetings between employees and the employer.

Principle 08

Right to Rest and Leave

Our employees make full use of the rest days and holidays they are legally entitled to. Staff who work five days a week get a two-day weekend.

Principle 09

Transparent Hiring

Open positions are determined by company management. Hiring is carried out lawfully and within predefined rules (equal treatment, leave, pay, holidays, employment contracts and so on).

Principle 10

Fair Discipline

Defined disciplinary rules are applied to keep the working environment orderly and productive. Wage deductions are never used as a disciplinary measure. All employees carry out their duties in line with our working procedure instructions.

Honest business conduct, a safe workplace and open communication are the basis of the trust we build with our employees and stakeholders.

Principle 11

A Healthy and Safe Workplace

We are committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. By minimizing the risk of accidents, injuries and exposure to anything that threatens their health, we aim to give our employees a lasting environment where they can work safely, healthily and productively. Violence, harassment, threats, abuse and intimidating conditions have no place in our workplace. All occupational health and safety rules required by law are applied in full.

Principle 12

Open Dialogue with Stakeholders

We engage with our stakeholders in good faith: we listen to them, learn from their views and take those views into account. Employee representatives are appointed in accordance with the law; our employees can discuss their concerns with their representatives and submit them in writing through suggestion boxes. We are committed to dialogue with our stakeholders on labor rights issues related to our workplace and within our sphere of influence.

Ethical and Honest Business

We build our business relationships on honesty and transparency. Corruption, fraud, embezzlement and bribery are not tolerated under any circumstances.

Our employees have the right to join a trade union and to bargain collectively, and these rights are respected.
