Who is Maslolab?

Named after Maslow, voiced by mothers.

Maslolab was founded in New York by Sinem Ergünay, a designer working on mother-and-baby products. The name comes from Maslow's hierarchy of needs: every step of motherhood, from basic needs to self-fulfilment. The products are designed in the New York studio after months of development; the fabric is 100% cotton with no elastane.

Choosing a nursing nightgown and a maternity robe

A nursing nightgown is the most-worn piece in the first days after birth, so three things matter: quick access to the baby, easy dressing and the fabric. The Maslolab nursing nightgown opens at the front with snaps for feeding and skin-to-skin contact; full-length back snaps make dressing and undressing easier on sore days. The snap edges are rounded so they don't scratch the baby's face. Knee length and half sleeves suit both hospital and home; the side pockets are for small essentials. The fabric is 100% cotton with no elastane.

A maternity robe — or kimono — is worn from late pregnancy onwards. With a long belt that ties at the front or back, sleeves to the elbow and a hem to the ankle, it is a comfortable layer for receiving visitors in the hospital room and for the first weeks at home with the baby.
